Every year, the 传播学系 recognizes COMM majors who are outstanding students or department citizens with several scholarships.

In the Fall semester, students are asked to self-nominate (the Fall 2023 deadline 是10月31日.) 应用程序 materials are reviewed and awards are announced by the end of the term, with awards disbursed during Spring semester.

The department typically organizes an end-of-year event where students are celebrated for their hard-earned achievements and dedication to their COMM 程序s, extracurricular 活动等等.

2024年奖:

Millage Scholarship for Juniors Majoring 传播学研究 

The Millage scholarships honor Heather McFadden Millage by supporting students who exemplify her passion for life, people and communication. 这个的奖励金额 奖学金为1500美元. 申请者必须是传播学专业 majors who have completed 最少60个，不超过89个. 获得 department scholarship 去年春天将不被考虑在内. 

On the application, students must provide their Overall GPA and a response to the following question: In at least 300 words and no more than 500 words, share how you will use your communication studies degree and what you have learned about communication 让世界有所不同.

Millage Scholarship for Seniors Majoring 传播学研究

Sproule Excellence in 研究和 Creative Activity Scholarship

Applicants must provide their overall GPA and a response to the following question: In at least 400 words and no more than 600 words, describe a research project that you have completed in one of your Communication classes. 这个项目可能来自 any of your COMM classes and might involve, for example, data analysis, interviews, interpretation or preparation for a performance, or preparation for an applied activity. 是什么让你的项目引人注目? Minnie Carr Excellence in 服务 Scholarship

To complete the application, students must provide their overall GPA and a response to the following question: In at least 300 words and no more than 500 words, describe your impact on the 传播学系 and how you have made a difference to other Communication students, faculty, and staff. 是什么让你的服务成为了 COMM department significant, notable, exceptional, and/or compelling?

香农·道尔海外留学奖

Shannon Doyle was a COMM Professor and an enthusiastic world traveler who took enormous pleasure in exploring new places around the globe. 香农也是一位敬业的老师， 致力于学生的成功. 这个奖学金是在香农学院设立的 honor, is awarded to COMM majors who are participating in a COMM-sponsored study abroad 程序.

The recipient of this award is recognized for academic achievement. 提名应 exemplify academic excellence, intellectual curiosity, and demonstrate progress made toward compelling scholarly contributions, for example, through conference presentations, publications, research assistantships, participation in the Grad Slam, etc. 被提名者 should also model collegiality toward peers and faculty, such as respect for different forms of scholarship and diverse styles of learning and teaching, and creative ways of applying scholarly work for the benefit of others.

优秀毕业生

The recipient of this award is recognized for their exceptional level of engagement with the 程序 and department in ways that strengthen our department community. This includes leading or participating in MA Program events and initiatives, service to the department, and activities that promote collaboration and engagement with all 大学成员.

Applicants should mail a 1- to 2-page letter outlining your qualifications to marie.haverfield@ligalocalvaldepenas.com. Please include your name and the type of award nomination in the email subject (e.g., 优秀毕业生 - [Student Name]). 无需额外准备材料. Nominations will be considered by the 研究生 Committee and the honorees will be 在学期结束时宣布.
