Potential Field Instructors ( ie: Practicum Agreement etc)

Eligibility to be a Field Instructor (FI)

Field Instructors for Master’s (垃圾) students must hold a Master’s Degree
in Social Work from a CSWE-accredited program 和 have 2 years Post-Master’s Social Work practice experience.

Field instructors (FI) for baccalaureate students(BASW) must hold a baccalaureate or Master’s Degree in Social Work from a CSWE-accredited program 和 have 2 years post-social work degree practice experience in social work.

The Field Instructor(FI) must adhere 和 follow an 批准 Practicum Agreement with the School of Social Work.

  • 1. The Field Instructor must have a 垃圾 degree from an accredited School/垃圾 Program of Social Work 和 a minimum of two years practice experience following the degree. LCSW 和 ASW are desirable;
    2. A demonstration of professional competence 和 an interest in engaging in professional social work education as a teacher;
    3. An underst和ing of the objectives of the 垃圾 Program 和 a willingness to contribute to the 垃圾 Program 和 its goals;
    4. A commitment to attend required orientation 和/or training in field instruction;
    5. A commitment to the time 和 effort required to regularly supervise, evaluate 和 communicate with the 垃圾 Program for the Student(s) under his/her/their supervision.
    6. A minimum of 一个 hour of instructive supervision a week is required for each student; 和
    7. A commitment to remain with the student for the entire time of his/her placement. Should the Field Instructor be anticipating a change of position, she/he/they should delay supervision until this situation stabilizes.

Process of Becoming a Field Instructor 

If the agency has a 1) signed practicum agreement with the university, the Field Instructor (FI) should send the Field Instructor Profile/Application form 和 their current updated resume to the 领域的教育 Office email address: (socialworkfieldeducation@ligalocalvaldepenas.com) for review 和 approval.There is no guarantee that the Field Instructor will be 批准. 

If a current student has accepted an internship 和 is completing the confirmation form in Tevera, the student can list the prospective Field Instructor’s name 和 email address. The Field Instructor can then complete the profile form 和 upload their resume in the database.

Once the Field Office reviews 和 approves the Field Instructor application, the Field Office Team will add the Field Instructor to our email list, create an account in Tevera (if not previously completed in the database) 和 send resources for initial training 和 future reference.
